Ehemaliges Rathaus

Flörsheim-Dalsheim

Ehemaliges Rathaus im OT Dalsheim

As the former Dalsheim town hall, the building was once the centre of the village administration. The earlier designation "by dem Dantzhuse" refers to a larger hall that served the village community as a festival hall and meeting room. A community hall that was destroyed in the Palatinate War of Succession in 1689 is mentioned in 1674. Today, the building is used as a training room for the Malteser as well as a storage room. The foundation stone was laid on 31 July 1709 and the church was consecrated sixteen years later. Largely destroyed during the nights of bombing in February and March 1945, it was rebuilt by Bauhaus architect Otto Bartning from 1955 to 1959. In the top of the tower there is a carillon that plays songs from the Protestant hymnal that are appropriate for the church year. Wilhelm Buschschulte created biblical…
