Turning old into new: creating a signal box artwork together

During the tour of the old signal box in Armsheim, participants will get to know the listed signal box from 1899 with its block and lever mechanism as well as the tensioning room. They will learn what a switchman had to do "so that a train could run."

After the tour, participants can choose objects like signals and signs that they want to later assemble into a work of art. Together, they will head to the magic forge in Armsheim. There, Mr. Harbut will introduce them to the old techniques of forging and welding, before the participants create an artwork together as a group. This artwork will then be installed at a later date in the outdoor area of the signal box.

Anyone aged 16 and over can participate. This artistic-craft work is also suitable for women. Please remember to wear sturdy shoes and "work clothes" and to bring a snack.
