The cultural and wine ambassadors invite you to a special tour in the Gonsbachtal on May 30, 2026. A walk that combines history, nature, and enjoyment: Under the motto "Romans, Roses, Rosemary," participants will discover a landscape full of stories, history, and scents. In the Gonsbachtal landscape protection area, the Gonsbach has been restored to its original state, with the brook finding its own way. Here, we find native shrubs and trees such as willows, alders, ashes, and oaks, as well as reeds and rushes along the banks. Following in the footsteps of the Romans, we pass picturesque gardens, fragrant herb beds, enchanted corners, and untouched paths. Along the way, guests will learn exciting facts about the cultural and historical significance of Gonsbachtal – from ancient traces to modern use.
The Gonsbachtal is a gem in the heart of Mainz. With this tour, we aim to inspire both locals and visitors with its beauty.
