Livemusik von Banda Mahalla

Mainz
on 14.12.2025 at 16:00 o'clock

The Banda Mahalla, featuring singer Zeynep, has been interpreting folk songs from the various cultures of Anatolia and the Middle East since 2022. In addition to Kurdish, Armenian, and Turkish pieces, Arabic, Georgian, and Persian music is also presented in their own arrangements. The repertoire includes pieces as diverse as the multicultural realities in the Rhine-Main region. A particular focus is placed on songs that reflect the political and social realities in the respective countries and regions, as well as experiences of fleeing and living in exile.

In Mainz, the first foodsharing café in the Rhine-Main area was established by the association krumm & schepp. Since 2021, a diverse team of about 17 people has been committed to a shared heartfelt project in the city. The offerings include the areas of café, education, and culture: guests receive fair drinks, the prices of which they can determine themselves. Regular workshops for various age groups are also held. The program is complemented by cultural formats, including popular events such as the "Schnibbelparty".
