The Kleist classic in a contemporary Chawwerusch version and a pure staging - three actors play the comical yet profound story of the darkest day of the village judge Adam. In the morning he wakes up with a headache, his wig is nowhere to be found, and then he must also navigate through an extremely delicate court case, always under the strict supervision of the jurisdiction from the city, who has come to scrutinize him. It is also not a good day for widow Marthe. Until yesterday, her small world was still in order: she lived in her own house with her already engaged daughter, and her family heirloom, the jug, stood unscathed on the windowsill. But suddenly everything has gone awry: Her daughter Eve was seen late in the evening in the garden with her fiancé Ruprecht. Shortly thereafter, the jug was broken - enough reason for Marthe to take the matter to court. The old village judge Adam is supposed to restore everything: the right facts, satisfaction for the damage incurred - and not least the honor of daughter Eve.
