The historic Neustadt of Bad Kreuznach with a tour of St. Nicholas Church

The tour begins with a walk through Kurhausstraße and the old streets of the historic Neustadt and ends with a special tour of St. Nicholas Church. The meeting point is the House of Guests.
You will immerse yourself in an Old Kreuznach as it looked from medieval times until 1900. One would say old town if one were guided by today's cityscape. However, in Bad Kreuznach, the apparent old town is curiously called Neustadt with a historical town center. Why? Our city guide Elisabeth van Werden-Troll explains that best.
As a special conclusion to the walk, the Nikolauskirche will be visited, the oldest preserved church in the city with an abundant original furnishings from several centuries.

It was donated by the Counts of Sponheim and served the Carmelite Order as their church for 500 years. In addition to medieval tomb slabs, the cross reliquary, and a hunger cloth from 1584, the Baroque and neo-Gothic furnishings can be admired, which also includes the numerous stained glass windows from around 1900.
