Under the motto “Together for Peace and Understanding”, Bingen, together with the German UNESCO Commission and the Association of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Germany, invites you to the 21st UNESCO World Heritage Day on June 7. Visitors can expect a varied program in a unique setting. A free art tour titled “Art in Bingen? Absolutely!” starts at 10:00 a.m. at Bingen Central Station. An interesting tour on the topic “Quo vadis Latin?! Where are you going?” follows at 11:15 a.m. at the Museum am Strom for a small fee of 6.50 euros. Additionally, the museum offers free admission on this day. Also free is the viewing of the Old Crane starting at 12:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m., a tour will be offered. During the free walk “Where Tracks Once Lay” at 3:00 p.m. in the Park at the Mäuseturm, guests will embark on a quest at the gateway to the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The day will be accompanied by the photo campaign #WorldHeritageConnects. Bingen invites you to discover and participate.
The event kicks off with the free tour: “Art in Bingen? Absolutely!” Bingen is not immediately associated with art. However, there are numerous exciting works from various epochs to discover in the city's landscape. A particular focus is on modern sculptures that have come to Bingen as part of the Gerda and Kuno Pieroth Foundation's Sculpture Triennale. This year, the Sculpture Triennale will take place again. Under the motto “Connection and Cohesion,” the art pieces of the Triennale 2026 will also be presented, which can be seen along the general art tour path.
Start: 10:00 a.m. Meeting point: Forecourt Bingen Central Station
The tour is free of charge. Registration until Saturday, June 6, 12:00 p.m.
