The traditional pre-Christmas jazz concert, presented by ALL THAT JAZZ, will take place this year in the Protestant Martinskirche in Jugenheim.
Seasonal songs like “Let it snow” and “White Christmas” will be performed alongside the atmospheric titles “Winter Wonderland,” “Oh Holy Night,” and “What a Wonderful World.” Well-known gospel songs will round off the program, and of course, Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer will not be missed. ALL THAT JAZZ offers an entertaining, varied program beyond the usual jazz standards from all musical eras.
Specifically for this concert, they have arranged well-known musical pieces that will put the visitors in the mood for the Advent season. The band features Toni Krebs (cornet), Thomas Wagner (trombone and vocals), Eric Webster (guitar and banjo), Manfred Pfeifer (clarinet, saxophone), Charly Zerfass (sousaphone), and Jasmin Shakir, who interprets the vocal pieces with her wonderful voice and guides through the program.
The setting for this concert is the Protestant Martinskirche in Jugenheim. The impressive structure significantly shapes the town’s appearance.
Even from a distance, the tower with its balanced, curved dome and high lantern, together with the sturdy hall building featuring its slender windows and the surrounding broad-crowned trees, forms the architectural highlight of Jugenheim.
The Martinskirche often serves as the centerpiece for numerous concerts. Thanks to its excellent acoustics, every note performs to its full potential and invites listeners to pause and enjoy.
