23.03.2016 E-Mobility cooperation extended

EEA and Rheinhessen tourism are e-mobile together

The Rhine-Hessian cycle route network with its ten exemplary, themed theme routes has enjoyed great demand for years. The proverbial 1,000 hills obviously have no deterrent effect. That may also be related to the almost nationwide range of rental options for electric bikes.

So that guests can master the wine hills with ease, Rheinhessen-Touristik has set up a network of e-bike rental stations in cooperation with the EWR AG Worms, Riese & müller, the manufacturer of premium e-bikes from Darmstadt, and bicycle dealers in the region , The alternative form of mobility fits very well with EEA's profile, which has been increasingly involved in this promising market for some time now and has been gained as an important partner. As a leading energy company in the region, EEA is committed to sustainable and innovative strategies. One of them is the development of electromobility for the nationwide supply in Rheinhessen / Ried.

Under the motto "CLEWR MOBILITY - We make the future possible" there are offers ranging from charging infrastructure to rolling offers for everyone to e-mobility concepts for companies. For this purpose one is looking for partners, with whom one can transfer the electromobility concept into concrete projects and offers. One of them is the e-bike rental network of Rheinhessen-Touristik, which will start its third season in April.

This season there are 20 partners who offer the bikes for hire. A key success factor is the online booking tool, which makes borrowing child's play. The bikes can be easily booked on the Internet at www.ebike-rheinhessen.info and picked up at a rental station and also returned.

The declared goal of both partners is the intensive cooperation for the further development of the project. From 2016 on, in addition to the individual offer at the rental stations, there will also be an EEA-E-Bike pool, which is available for lending in the context of special group offers of Rheinhessen tourism. On the agenda is also the development of a nationwide network of charging stations along the theme routes. 2016 is about the equipment of the Rhine Cycle Route, from 2017, the Selztalradweg is optimized. In doing so, it is important to set up the charging stations in close proximity to the tourist routes in frequented places and places with a special quality of stay (gastronomy, hotels, retail) in coordination with the municipalities.

Other future topics of the partnership include e-car sharing. The rental cars with electric propulsion are also planned to set up the required charging infrastructure in selected, strategic locations, always with the intention of offering models that are also attractive in tourism.
