Weingut Baum

Sebastian Baum, with the support of his family, is the fourth generation to run the winery, which was founded in 1928. In 2013, he was awarded best young winemaker in theory and practice. In addition to his first-class expertise, a lot of love and passion go into his products. The vinotheque, built in the old cowshed in a modern, rustic style, invites you to taste.

Wine tastings are possible from 2 to 25 people. Online wine tastings can also be arranged.

Vinotheque at the Ingelheimer Winzerkeller

Wine shopping in the Ingelheim wine shop

Where once the wine of the Nieder-Ingelheim Winemakers' Association was pressed, matured, and stored, there is now a place for wine enjoyment.   Almost 30 Ingelheim winemakers and a distillery showcase their top wines and fine spirits here. Whether red or white, dry or semi-dry - lovers of good wine will find optimal opportunities to get to know Ingelheim wines in the modern ambiance of the wine shop.

In modern wire frames that create a harmonious contrast to the old sandstone walls, they lie: the best drops from the almost 30 Ingelheim winemakers and one distillery. Tasting is explicitly encouraged, as highlighted by the offered 3- or 6-glass wine tasting or a sparkling wine tasting. It also offers a variety of events, where visitors can taste fine wines and gain deeper insights into the art of winemaking. In addition to excellent wines, there are also products related to wine available in the regional shop on-site.

If you would like to be informed about news or promotions from the wine shop, we recommend subscribing to the newsletter.

The wine shop in the winemakers' cellar is an "OUTSTANDING Rheinhessen Wine Shop." In September 2021, the wine shop in the winemakers' cellar was awarded by the German Wine Institute as one of the 30 most beautiful wine shops in Germany. The wine shop is also featured in the Merian Catalog X1/2021 "Wine Enjoyment Germany." See for yourself and click here

Ingelheimer Sonnenhang

Ingelheimer Sonnenhang

Sun, Selz and super wines

Not to be confused with the 1-hectare single vineyard "Ingelheimer Sonnenberg" in the middle of the city. The Sonnenhang is 88 hectares in size and is located in the extension of Ingelheim-Süd and on the Selz River. Sonnenhang and Sonnenberg are quasi-synonyms. This name comes from the generally favorable position towards the sun. Here, the Mainzer Berg slopes west-southwest toward the Selz Valley and allows optimal sun exposure. On limestone, loess and loam grow a variety of vines of rather strong style: Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. In the soil there are fossilized corals and snails.

Groß-Winternheimer Bockstein

Groß-Winternheimer Bockstein

Army road, dry stone wall and Rieslings

Just like Elsheim, Groß-Winternheim also has a single vineyard called Bockstein. This does not come as a surprise, as the two villages are only five kilometres apart, both by the Selz River and on the former army road. In the past, loads were carried on the back, jacked up (german: “aufgebockt”). Hence the name. Excellent Rieslings are produced here on loess, sand and clay marl. Lizards bask in the sun along the dry stone walls. The hiking trail Westerberg Hiwweltour leads directly along Groß-Winternheim. Along the river Selz, there are wonderful places for cycling.
