The outdoor pool at Wartberg was built in 1957/58 and is now a sports and leisure pool. A total of four solar-heated pools are available for sports and play for visitors of all ages. When the Groß-Gerau safari park closed its doors in 1984, Peter Schweikhard was raising two tiger cubs by bottle. After the park went bankrupt, they simply stayed in Ingelheim. The bathing beach at Pfarrwiesensee can be reached via a tarmac field path in the immediate vicinity of the outdoor pool in Gimbsheim. Swimming and using the beach is free of charge and at your own risk. There is no supervision by the DLRG (German Life Saving Association).
