Cooling tower concept with heat recovery

The "Cooling Tower Concept with Heat Recovery" from Richard Wagner GmbH in Alzey was awarded the Sustainability Award in 2014 in the category oenology. The newly developed cooling tower concept with heat recovery convinced the jury with its high energy efficiency.

This is achieved by the flexible, customizable system arrangement and the optimized control modules of the system technology. The concept ideally combines the well-known technologies cooling tower, buffer tank and tube bundle cooler and can be varied depending on the size and type of the winery. In comparison to other cooling concepts, no chemical refrigerants are needed and the water requirement is comparatively low. Compared to a compression refrigerating machine, a reference winery in 2013 achieved electricity savings of almost 70% and a significant reduction in noise emissions.
