The "Brel Project" has long made a name for itself in the Rheinhessen region and among the audience in Bad Kreuznach. On Sunday, March 15, at 6:00 PM, it will once again perform at the Loge, presenting songs of the great interpreters Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, and Léo Ferré.
Christian Küchenmeister on piano and clarinet, Jürgen Nuffer on guitar, and Steffen Heieck as singer and moderator convey the music and the French lyrics of the three leading stars of 1960s chanson, which are translated or explained in German, into the experiential world of the audience.
The inexorable force of time holds themes that have long shaped literature and chanson: the fragility of relationships, letting go of the past, and painful finiteness. But also, new beginnings, a desire for the new, and dreaming as a blueprint for the future are aspects of the temporal, which find expression in the poetic songs of Brel, Brassens, and Ferré—sometimes contemplative, sometimes lively.
The new program of the Brel Project is dedicated in its selection of chanson and moderation to the theme of time in the works of the three great chansonniers. The audience can look forward to a fascinating potpourri of melancholy and cheerfulness.
The lives and works of the three great musicians of "chanson littéraire" will be presented in the two-hour soirée in a lively and multifaceted manner, so that one can gain exciting insights into the biographies and creations of the world-renowned music poets without language barriers.
Admission costs €15; for guests with a guest card, people with disabilities, or individuals under 18 years, it costs €12. Tickets are available at the Tourist Info in the Haus des Gastes, Kurhausstraße 22-24, or at www.ticket-regional.de.
