Hiwweltour Heideblick

This 10 km circular trail takes you through Rheinhessen’s unique heath landscape – a Mediterranean-style gem that turns into a sea of color during late summer bloom. Along the way you’ll discover vineyards, rocks and panoramic viewpoints, the ruins of Neu-Bamberg Castle and inviting resting spots. A varied hiking experience, perfect for slowing down and enjoying nature.

Hemmes Winery

Our July wine tasting venue is the Vinothek and Wine School at Hemmes Winery in Bingen-Kempten. Wine school? You read that correctly. You can learn what it's all about from winemaker Frank Hemmes during a unique wine tasting in the former village school. As the schoolmaster, he doesn't give grades but instead makes fascinating connections to wine in subjects like biology, geology, and local history. This wine tasting is learning with enjoyment and pleasure; there are no exams and no grades!
