The Zimmermann family winery, run for generations, is located in the beautiful wine-growing community of Ludwigshöhe in Rheinhessen, between Mainz and Worms. The Braunewell Winery is located in the Selztal in Essenheim, Rheinhessen. The family-run winery, managed by the brothers Christian and Stefan, cultivates, among other vineyards, the Essenheimer Blume and Essenheimer Teufelspfad and is a member of Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen, Fair`n`Green, and Sektmacher. The newly built vinotheque at the winery, completed in 2020, has received multiple awards, including the Excellent Vinotheque 2021 from the German Wine Institute.
Since 2016, there has been a small market in the "Old Schoolyard" in Selzen. On Thursday afternoons, there are baked goods, regional fruits and vegetables, fish, and delicacies. Local winemakers take turns weekly to serve their delicious wines. A visit is definitely worth it!
