Our home - the Selz Valley - offers outstanding conditions for growing grapes. Deep, playful soils and a cool climate allow for late, optimal grape ripening. The focus of our work is on Grauer Burgunder - our grandfather's favourite grape variety -, Riesling and Spätburgunder from our top vineyards TEUFELSPFAD, KLOPP, BLUME. Wines and estates are spectacular. The castle ensemble (16th/17th century) towers stately over Ingelheim. In 1900, the von Opel family acquired the estate. Today, the VDP winery is run by Count and Countess Schönburg-Glauchau in the fourth generation. It benefits from an outstanding stock of vines in the Schloss Westerhaus monopollage and other sites in the Selz Valley. Wine tastings are available by appointment for up to 50 people. Under the management of Heiko and Goscha Schäfer, the winery produces a wide range of wines that are known for their mild, aromatic and noble characteristics. The range includes both red and white wines, Rotling and Rosé, which are characterised by their high quality and excellent value for money. Special attention is paid to PIWI wines, which are made from fungus-resistant grape varieties. These wines are characterised by sustainability and robustness and are becoming increasingly important in viticulture.

Our winery in Ingelheim is located on the northern edge of Rheinhessen between the Rhine and the hills. Here we cultivate around nine hectares of vines exclusively organically and ECOVIN certified. The best red and white wines for wine lovers and connoisseurs - that is what the name Huf stands for, now in its 4th generation. Wine tastings are possible from 5 to 12 people.
