Since the year 2000, the Spiesheim Advent windows invite reflective encounters and cozy get-togethers during the pre-Christmas season.
The initiative, founded by Agnes Nöth and Eckart Müller, is based on the motto: "Better to light a candle than to complain about the darkness."
Almost every evening in Advent, a lovingly decorated window opens up in Spiesheim. The Advent windows provide an opportunity to pause together, meet neighbors, and get into the Christmas spirit – a wonderful example of lived village community and warmth.
