Spring is the starting signal for the new vintage. When it gets warmer outside and the days get longer, the time has come to get the wines of the new vintage from the cellars. When the first green stretches its tips out of the ground, then not only in the wineries, the new vintage is launched, but also in the restaurants of the region. Then come the first regional vegetables of the season on the plate and lots of new ideas on how Rheinhessen can be discovered culinary. Because now Rheinhessen is back in season!
Eating without wine is like Rheinhessen without ostrich farms. For every good meal requires the right wine. But which wine suits which dish? Rheinhessen's Strausswirtschaften and Gutsschänken provide the best suggestions and ideas. "Wine meets ..." is the name of the series of culinary encounters in the Rheinhessen wine taverns. They value fresh, typical regional products from the neighborhood, which are combined with selected wines from Rheinhessen in wineries with a special ambience
The next event, from May 10th to 12th, will be dedicated to royal vegetables, asparagus. Asparagus and herbal specialties are combined with fine fruity wines.
From June 14th to 16th we will continue our exciting encounter "Wine meets ... strawberry. The sweet fruits come fresh from the field in the region. It will be interesting to see with which wine companions they harmonize best.
