Since 1987 the wine bar is open. The winemakers mission is to cosset their guests with their wines as well as fine and exquisite food. Wine tastings are held by appointment any time with 10 persons or more. Among the wines you will receive technical comments. Rooms are available for family gatherings and group trips. Upon request you are offered different menus and buffets.
Wine tavern in a historic columned cross vault. Here guests can enjoy dishes like in ancient Rome. Furthermore, artifacts from the Roman era related to wine and food culture are displayed. Of course, there are also Rheinhessen delicacies from the present day and delicious wine from the own winery to accompany it.
The "Römer" is one of the most beautiful half-timbered houses in Rheinhessen. Built around 1690, after its complete renovation it houses the wine bar and a small hotel with a very personal atmosphere. In the wood-panelled wine bar, guests enjoy local wines and good regional cuisine. In the heart of Alzey, on the Roßmarkt, the "Römer" invites you to the join the locals and enjoy typical specialities. The Römer offers the right premises for family and company celebrations, but also for business appointments.
The wine-growing community of Bodenheim, the gateway to the Rhine Terrace, is only a few minutes' drive from Mainz. Situated above Bodenheim on the outskirts of the village, the Gauer winery - Potsdamer Hof - is home. From here, visitors have a magnificent view of the vineyard hills, the Rhine valley and the Taunus. The wine tavern is a popular destination for hikers and cyclists.
