The Witches' Tower is one of the seven mighty towers of the Fleckenmauer in Flörsheim-Dalsheim. It received its name, however, not because witches were imprisoned there, but because of its roof shape, which is reminiscent of a "witch's hat". This point is part of an audio-visual tour with additional content on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu-jERBUpDk The audiovisual content of this point was created by a project of the LAG Rhein-Haardt and was funded within the framework of the EULLE development programme with the…

The building was erected in 1826/27 on the site of a previous building from 1608 (see the date on the cellar gate) in the former “Kirchgasse” (today “An der Burgkirche”). The hipped roof building has a gable-crowned middle part and a clock-tower with a clock and weather flag, added in 1837. Below the balcony the date 1827 can be seen. This is the most important classicistic town hall in Rheinhessen. The initial use as a town hall and courthouse for Ober-Ingelheim lasted until the three old Ingelheim village…

The trullo, or rather the trulli (plural), as there are 6 of these vineyard houses around Flörsheim-Dalsheim, originally served as a shelter for the field marksmen (Wingertsschützen). At the time when most of these houses were built - in the middle of the 18th century - their main task was to protect the vines and the vineyard stakes from wood theft. The Trullo am Nussbaum in Flörsheim-Dalsheim was awarded a prize by the Rheinhessen Wine Brotherhood in 2016 - on behalf of all the Flörsheim-Dalsheim trulli - and stands at a…

With the Hildegard jubilee in 1998, the Historical Museum on the River - Hildegard von Bingen, the former electricity generating station on the bank of the Rhine River, opened its doors. There is a large department dedicated to Hildegard, the universal scholar and theologist. The museum offers something very special: a complete set of surgical instruments from the Roman days, discovered during renovation work in Bingen. A further department focuses on the Rhine Romantic epoch. In a unique way, the 200-year epoch is illustrated using, among…

The church is situated on high ground and was once surrounded by a defensive wall and an Effenring (elm trees), as was common in Rheinhessen. The compact little choir room in the tower and the sacristy attached to the east were fitted with a net vault in 1494, as evidenced by a corbel stone in the sacristy. A well-preserved late Gothic mural (St. Cyriacus or Laurentius and St. Erasmus) can be admired in the reveal of the eastern window of the choir.

Bad Münster am Stein - Ebernbu
Not far from the mighty backdrop of the Rotenfels in Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg, the sculptors Kubach-Wilmsen built their open-air studio in 1968. Almost their entire life's work was created in this landscape. Since 2001 they have been transforming the abandoned vineyards into a stone sculpture park that is open to the public. A natural landscape in the Nahe valley opens up to the visitor and observer with stone sculptures as stone piece works of the earth. Nearly 30 sculptures have already found their place in this landscape. The…
