Centuries ago, in picturesque Bechtolsheim, nestled in the rolling hills of Rheinhessen, a journey began that made the Lutz Winery what it is today. It was around 1700 when the ancestors of the Lutz family moved from southern France to Germany via Alsace. They found their new home in Bechtolsheim, a place already known at that time for its fertile soil and mild climate. Around 1780, they began cultivating grapes here, planting the first vines and tending them with dedication and patience.
