Under the management of Heiko and Goscha Schäfer, the winery produces a wide range of wines that are known for their mild, aromatic and noble characteristics. The range includes both red and white wines, Rotling and Rosé, which are characterised by their high quality and excellent value for money. Special attention is paid to PIWI wines, which are made from fungus-resistant grape varieties. These wines are characterised by sustainability and robustness and are becoming increasingly important in viticulture.
The Gehring winery is uniquely situated on a sunny hill with a view of the Rhine meadows to Mainhatten above the world-famous wine town of Nierstein. The name stands for renowned vineyards on the Rote Hang, whose grapes are turned into expressive award-winning top wines in Gehring's cellar.
