In a "Gastwirtschaft", as it is called in Rheinhessen, the focus is on the comprehensive food supply. This is complemented by drinks of various kinds. Here the guest can expect to be served beer.
A "Mainzer Handkäse" is prepared with vinegar, oil, onions, pepper and some garlic (it is especially well covered in a stoneware pot, covered with a vinegar-soaked linen loaf). A dry wine tastes great with it. And yet, when talking about music, that does not mean that it comes with a little marching band, but rather refers to the grand finale that the human body is going to produce, thanks to the onions.
